(Trepanning drill head)Nesting processing can leave material cores, which can save materials and reduce the power consumption of machine tools. When it is necessary to take out samples from the material center for performance testing, the nesting drill cannot be replaced by other types of cutting tools. The nesting drill is usually used to process holes with a diameter of over 60 millimeters, and the nesting depth can reach more than ten meters. There are two types of nesting drills: external chip removal and internal chip removal (see deep hole drill). The main advantage of the external chip nesting drill is that the required cutting fluid system equipment is simple, but the diameter of the drill rod is small, resulting in poor strength and stiffness, and it is mostly used for single piece and small batch production; The inner chip nesting drill relies on the pressure of cutting fluid to flush chips out of the drill rod, requiring a complex liquid supply system and solving sealing problems. However, it has high productivity and is suitable for mass production. The nesting drill can have one or more high-speed steel or hard alloy cutting heads, and the cutting body is equipped with guide blocks to prevent vibration and reduce the deviation of the small hole during cutting. The guide block is made of wear-resistant materials such as hard alloy, rubberwood, or nylon. The blade body and the tubular drill rod can be connected by welding or special square tooth threads. In order to ensure smooth chip removal and reduce cutting load, the cutting edges of each cutting head of the nesting drill are designed in different shapes to narrow the chips. At the same time, chip breaking platforms are ground in front of each cutting tooth to break the chips. When threading large diameter blind holes, a specialized cutting device is required to separate the core from the body.
A nesting drill (trepanning drill head) is a drill bit that uses circular cutting to create holes in solid materials.
